MASTER VOCAL WORKSHOPS
One of LIEDER ALIVE!’s key programs has been our Vocal Master Workshop series, which brings outstanding master artists together with highly accomplished emerging and established professional singers for intensive training and performance. Past Master Workshops have been presented by baritone Thomas Hampson (2008), mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne (2009), soprano June Anderson (2011), followed by the distinguished Swedish baritone Håkan Hagegård, who collaborated with pianist John Parr in a public master class at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in September 2012.
Master Artists
HÅKAN HAGEGÅRD brought his innovative Singers’ Studio to us for an intensive five-day program, concluding with a public Master Class in September 2012.

We were honored to welcome the illustrious JUNE ANDERSON who generously sang a Gala Benefit Concert for us and taught both an inspiring public Master Class, The Art of Singing, and also three days of private studio classes in October 2011.
We are profoundly grateful — one and all — that our initial season culminated in June 2009 with an expansive three-day program exploring the noble singing and expression of Romantic German Lieder, led by the marvelous MARILYN HORNE.
THOMAS HAMPSON inaugurated this unique program with a Mostly Mahler intensive two-day Master Workshop in October 2008. Our gifted artists and a wonderful audience were thrilled to learn abundantly from his insightful brilliance.
